Most of my friends know what I do for a living. Part of what I do is develop detailed plans for the development and construction of buildings.
Several weeks before the birth of Raquel and again on the very day she was born I developed a very detailed schedule that showed who was doing what every hour of every day for the first two weeks of her life.
What I didnt know was that very night that entire schedule would be blown away and I would be at the mercy of God’s grace.
As God would have it I got to see first hand how God is into the details. When we needed to go to the hospital my in laws were here to take care of the children. On the first day at the hospital my in laws brought the other two children to see Mom and to see Raquel.
On the second day we had a room full of visitors all willing to help us out. In fact Terry and I got frustrated with each other as we were trying to figure out how to let so many people help us!
When I needed a break a friend named Ari drove a decent distance to take me out to lunch and to listen. That was such a huge blessing.
When I needed cash my Father showed up with cash so I didnt need to worry about going to an ATM machine.
When we were hungry family and friends always had food.
When I was tired friends and family brought us Starbucks
When I ran out of clothes my in laws and friends did our laundry and brought me new shirts to wear
When we needed prayer there was ALWAYS someone present to pray with us. We always were able to get hundreds if not thousands to pray with a simple e-mail
When we needed shoring up there always was a Messianic Rabbi present or a phone call away
When we needed companionship friends stayed up with us until obscene hours of the night
When we needed to cry there was always a shoulder
When I was tired friends and my employer provided hotel rooms or a condo
The list goes on and on. We never had ONE SINGLE unmet need or even want. We felt as if we were drinking the love of the Lord from a fire hose.
