From the moment Terry was recovering in her room we started getting visitors. I am not talking about a few people that would bring a plant, stay a few moments and then leave. I am speaking of a steady stream of people that came one at a time and sometimes in groups. We had people bringing meals, snacks, coffees (they know what real survival food is), hotel room keys, and these people stayed for long periods of time.
One friend in particular was such a blessing she will never know what her work means to us. God put it on her heart to chronicle Raquel’s life in photographs. She literally took hundreds and hundreds of photos of people visiting, praying, laughing, crying, and truly captured the blessings the best a still photo can do. We will be creating a movie later with the body of her work.
We had so many people loving on us that we had one nurse tell Terry that she must be very popular. Terry responded saying”No I am not. This is my body in Christ”.
Similar things were happening down at Raquel’s bedside. She was being visited so often and prayed for so often nurses began to ask us questions about our faith. Our nurses and doctors were such a blessing (all but one that is and she knows who she is…).
We prayed with the nurses and they took the very best care of Raquel they could. God bless those ladies and men for the work they do.
